Laws and Beyond

FOUNDER - MEGHA SHARMA

MEGHA SHARMA | Barrister & Solicitor | Founder

I, Megha Sharma, see every day as a new opportunity to exceed the expectations of a growing number of clients. I always attempt to provide the best value in the Calgary area, and my clients have witnessed firsthand how hard I work for them. My hallmarks are honesty and integrity.
In order to achieve cost-effective results, I first try to work out a mutually beneficial arrangement with the opposing counsel. Most of the time, due to my confident energy, resilience, and thorough command of laws and facts, I am able to successfully negotiate and mediate on my clients’ behalf. Having said that, I am comfortable litigating and often appear in contentious issues before the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta and the Provincial Court of Alberta.
Further, I have been through some difficult and stressful life events that have involved intricate litigation. As a result, I adopt a very practical and realistic approach to resolving legal challenges for my clients, while avoiding lengthy and costly judicial processes.
I have found professional and personal fulfillment by concentrating my practice in areas of family law and employment law as these are core human needs. As any changes in your career or family circumstances have the potential to derail your life, and I want to be your ally during such critical legal circumstances.
In order to provide mindful solutions to my clients, I practice meditation and spend time in nature.

Employment Law – Severance Package

When your near and dears have lost their employment, we at Laws & Beyond will stand strong with them.

There are many Albertans who still think that the employer can terminate you at will any time, without any compensation. The employer must pay you severance if you were terminated “without cause” (that is true in most cases).
