We don’t offer free ‘meet and greets’ because we provide a comprehensive, one-hour working session. This allows our team to perform an in-depth case screening and provide you with substantive legal advice immediately. However, if you choose to retain our firm, we apply a 30-minute credit from that consultation fee toward your case.

They offer transparency through Flat Fees for standard services like Wills and Incorporation, while litigation and complex matters are handled via hourly rates or an incremental replenishment (retainer) system.

15. Will my information remain confidential?

Absolutely. Under the “Solicitor-Client Privilege,” all discussions with the lawyer and staff are 100% confidential and legally protected.

16. What are the grounds for divorce in Alberta?

There are three legal grounds: separation for at least one year, adultery, or mental/physical cruelty.

17. Do I have to go to court for every matter?

No. The firm emphasizes Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), such as mediation and negotiation, to save clients time and money. Court is considered as a last resort.

18. How is property divided in a separation?

According to Alberta law, property acquired during the marriage is generally divided 50/50, though some “exempt properties” (like inheritances) may be treated differently and this can be discussed further by our firm.

19. What is the difference between "Parenting Time" and "Decision-Making"?

Parenting Time refers to the physical schedule of when the child is with each parent, while Decision-Making refers to the right to make major choices regarding the child’s education, religion, and health.

20. What if my partner is hiding assets?

The firm can help obtain “Preservation Orders” to freeze bank accounts or prevent the sale of property, ensuring that assets are protected until the final settlement.
